CM Khattar Urges People to Make Yoga an Integral Part of Life

Karnal: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday urged the people of the state to make yoga an integral part of their lives.

At a state-level function to mark International Yoga Day in Karnal, he along with Swami Gyananand, Ramdev's close aide Bal Krishan and thousands of students, bureaucrats, officials and locals performed yoga asans here.

The CM said the government was keen on promoting yoga in the state for which vyamsalas and yogsalas would be opened at every village. He said the government would also include yoga in schools and "recruit 1,000 teachers".

“Today is a big day in the history of Haryana. More than 25,000 people performed yoga at a place, this has never happened in Haryana before. More than 30,000 people participated in Yoga Day at Rajpath. I would like to congratulate all of them. I appeal to the people of Haryana to implement yoga in their lives. Yoga is good for their body and mind,” said Khattar

“Such events are not just government functions, we are making plans so that yoga benefits everyone....We will also give importance to cleanliness and well being of people,” he said.

Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said it was due to his efforts that several countries were celebrating this event as International Yoga Day.

Acharaya Balkrishan praised the efforts of the Haryana Government for promoting yoga. He urged people to adopt yoga and perform it with patience, which would help to make their body and mind fit.
