Jhajjar: A CIA team of the district police today claimed to have unearthed an illegal arms manufacturing factory being run from a house in Bahrana village, 18 km from here.

Two youths were arrested, while their accomplice escaped. The team seized six pistols and equipment used in manufacturing weapons, the police said, adding firearms were supplied to nearby states.

“On a tip-off, the team led by Sub-inspector (SI) Sandeep Kumar raided the house and arrested Sunny and Shashi. Their accomplice S Kumar alias Sandeep alias Dholia managed to flee,” said Jhajjar SP Sumit Kumar.
“S Kumar is wanted in several cases of heinous crime registered in police stations of Jhajjar, Bhiwani and Kurukshetra districts,” the SP said.

“The accused have been booked under the Arms Act,” Sumit Kumar said, adding information about the illegal trade would come out during interrogation of the accused. He added action would be taken against those who had bought weapons from the factory.

Another illegal arms factory was unearthed in Bahrana village on July 19. In 2013, the police raided similar factories operational from houses in the village. Those into the illegal trade had stopped manufacturing their operations after the police action, but became active after some time.
