Rajdhani Train Gets A Makeover: 'Swarna' Coaches., CCTV, LED Lights,

New Delhi:  Indian Railways has unveiled a revamped look of the Rajdhani Express with
the introduction  of 'Swarna' Coaches. From CCTV cameras, LED lights, 'auto janitor' systems in toilets, new night signage and more pockets for storage, the railways have made an effort to improve the passengers' travel experience. 

The upgraded version has initially been introduced in the Sealdah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express and the coached have been upgraded at a cost of about Rs. 35 lakh, a  railway official said . A tweet by the Ministry of Railways read: "Ministry of Railways launched 1ST Swarna Rajdhani ( Train no 12314 New Delhi- Sealdah Rajdhani) rake today.A Major Leap in Improving Passenger Experience on Rajdhani Trains:14 Rajdhani Trains & 15 Shatabdi Trains will be upgraded under Project Swarna."

New Look:

The coaches get a new interior paint with a refined colour scheme to please the eye.

Better toilets

Toilets have been provided with 'auto janitor' systems that provides automatic cleaning and deodorising and claims to kill germs for toilets, urinals and provide an odour-free experience. This will help improve the hygiene in the trains. The toilet doors have vinyl wrapping and there's epoxy coating inside the toilets.

Faucets, stainless steel washbasins, improved soap dispensers, better quality dustbins have also been introduced. The location and placement of these have been carefully chosen for ergonomic convenience, said an official.

LED llight

LED lights have been introduced for better illumination. The lights have been placed over the mirrors too.

Bags with extra pockets

Newly-designed bags have been introduced in the coaches which will have extra pockets to store mobile phones.

Night Signage

For ease of identifying one's berth during the dark, special night signage has been fitted.

For heightened security and monitoring purpose, CCTV cameras have been introduced in the doorway area.

Ladders for first AC coaches

In the first AC passenger coaches, in-built ladders have been placed that makes access to upper berths easy.

With so many loaded features, Railways is hopeful that the passengers have a better, safer travel experience. This passenger initiative would be extended to another three trains of Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani and two trains of Sealdah-New Delhi Rajdhani and the Howrah-Ranchi Shatabdi Express, a railway official said.
