After Lull For Sometime, 3 More Corona Cases Reported in Himachal

Dharamsala: Three more cases of corona infection, two from Chamba district and one from Jamanabad village in Kangra district, were reported in Himachal , taking the tally of positive cases to 45.

Those who tested positive had come back to their native places from Delhi and Baddi after April 24.

The patients, who tested positive in Chamba, are from Salooni. Chief Medical Officer Dr Rajesh Guleri said both came from Baddi to their homes on April 30. Both were asymptomatic and their samples were taken randomly by the district health authorities, he said.

Chamba district has now seven corona patients, including four who had attended Tablighi Jamaat conference in Delhi.

Rakesh Prajapati, DC, said that the person, who tested positive for the virus today, is a resident of Jamanabad village, located around 10 km from Dharamsala. He had arrived in India from Dubai on March 21.

After arriving in Delhi, he got stranded due to the lockdown. On April 15, he tested negative for coronavirus in Delhi. He along with four others returned to the district on April 27 and remained in home quarantine. Yesterday, he complained of mild symptoms of the infection.

The health authorities sent his sample to Tanda medical college, where he was found Covid positive. He has been shifted to Tanda medical college. Now, all members of his family would be home quarantined and tested for coronavirus, said Prajapati.

He said that samples of 65 persons, who had returned home from other parts of the country, had been sent to Tanda hospital.
