Collusion And Political Fusion: The Mix-Up Very Dangerous To National Unity

. . No comments:

Police in India is known for being the agent of ruling class. As such. it works more as laggard and seen as " beating about the bush- samp nikal gaya, cops lathi pitati rah gaye". The violence during farmers' tractor rally on Republic Day and hosting of "Nishan Saheb" (also seen as Khalistani flag) atop Red Fort is a case in point.

It was not only sheer complacency of the Delhi police but an clandestine collusion with anti-farmers elements. The entire nation has been shamed abroad. Red Fort is the iconic symbol of our hard-earned independence and soul of freedom movement. Its a shame for the nation that it could not protect its monumental pride from anti-national forces. and more shameful is the collusion between such forces and ruling class.

It is now pointless to blame perpetrator of anti national activities like Deep Sidhu and his clan . Such forces are always there to harm the national unity and India's pride. But it is the duty of the govt of the day to protect and conserve our national pride. Its really most unfortunate that our ruling class can go to any extent, even harming national pride to serve their vested interests.

From the video footage, electronic, print and social media coverage, it is quite evident that the violence during farmers' tractor rally was stage-managed and a sinister design to break the protesting farmers' unity. Farmers haven't budge an inch from their demand for repealing the three farm laws recent enacted by the Modi govt. and have been protesting for more than two months. This protest was becoming an eyesore to the govt and as such ruling class was searching for the ways to break the farmers' protest. And Deep Sidhu and people like him were picked up as pawns in the hands.

Actor Deep Sidhu has a controversial past. Social media is now full of pictures showing him with Prime Minster Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Its not easy to get an appointment with PM and to get photographed with him. Intelligence agencies dig out all information about a person before giving him appointment. He was, surely, associated with the party and as such had easy access to power . Moreover, Deep Sidhu had canvassed for BJP MP Sunny Deol in the last Lok Sabha elections in Punjab's Gurdaspur.

It is quite intriguing that police didn't prevent Deep Sidhu and his supporters from entering Delhi early in the morning despite agreement that farmers would start their tractor rally from 12 PM. And more intriguing is how a violent crowd equipped with swords and lathis were allowed entry into the well-protect Red port and to host flag atop? Where were the cops? The police explanation that cops didn't want to use force as to maintain peace is just an excuse. Nobody, not even a child will buy this explanation. Police has been using force every time protesting farmers tried to enter the national capital.

It is now pointless to blame Deep Sidhu or his clans. Its a fact that govt. of the day has, miserably, failed to protect the national pride. Most unfortunate is that it is the same govt. that boasts its "nationalist credentials" over others. Delhi police is controlled by union Home Ministry, not by Delhi Govt. Had it been under Delhi govt, BJP would have shouted full-throated for the complacency and official collusion.

The worst part of the violence story is that in contemporary India, the collusion of vested interests is gradually leading to more and more political fusion. And for ruling class, its like "everything is fair in war". In the process most disturbing trend is the naive misconception of treating own people as the "enemy". A nation can't grow if even some people are seen as enemy. Mutual hostilities can only balkanize the nation.
