A meeting was held late Monday night to review the water situation in Shimla in which the city was divided in three zones and the Chief Minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure supply as per schedule.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to supply water in Kasumpti, Panthaghati, Patyog, Kangna Dhar, New Shimla and other peripheral areas on Tuesday morning.
The residents rue that the numbers of nodel officers entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring water supply in specified areas are either switched off or not responding.
Meanwhile, the local hoteliers’ whose business has been hit by bad publicity has decided to press nine water tankers into service for providing water to locals.
