Ever since he entered active politics in 1962 as a Member of Parliament, the scion of the erstwhile Rampur Bushahr royalty, the grand old man has tested corona positive for the second time in 60 days. He had returned fully recovered from Max Hospital Mohali (Punjab) on April 30 where he was cured for corona infection.He was tested positive on April 12 and the very next day he was shifted to Max hospital Mohali, where he recovered.
The state Chief Minister. Jai Ram Thakur had sent his official helicopter to bring the former CM back to Shimla but the same day he developed new complications and was rushed to IGMC hospital.
Virbhadra’s son, Vikramaditya Singh, Shimla (Rural) MLA too had tested positive and remained in home isolation at his residence “Holly Lodge”.
From the very first day, he became the chief minister "Raja" of Himachali's hearts has been defying all the odds and doomscrolling.
For his adversaries, he may a Zombie bug but for his hundreds of thousands of admirers, he is like a jellyfish that has the ability to have its cells start anew every time it faces injury.
In his long illustrious career, he had to fight not only his political adversaries but also the party top leaders, who made every attempt to unsettle him and foster their own henchmen. From P. V. Virbhadra Singh had grown taller than party top leaders and as such attempts after attempts was made to cut him to the size despite the fact that he was doing a good job.
“Virbhadra Singh has put his heart and soul in taking development to every nook and corner of the state," Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi had said at an election rally in 2017.
He is a quintessential for the Congress in the state and no other leader can match his popularity and mass base.
His supporters, admirers and lakhs of Himachali people pray for his long life on his birthday.
